Field Trip to the Gingerbread Villiage

McGrath and Teagan are visiting a local Gingerbread Villiage today. Their trip was originally suppose to happen on Wednesday but we had a snow day. Teagan's dress was originally made for Mackenzie for the same trip and McGrath's shirt (that you really can't see) was embroidered for Tucker for the same trip.

Cross Country Skiing

Christmas 2008 Mom and Me

I took mom to Walmart Christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago. While wandering around the store we happened upon a free picture with Santa booth. Now I had no intention of having a picture done with Santa but I think Santa had a thing for mom...lol We decided to get a picture done...I mean it was free. Santa wanted mom to sit close and check it out he doesn't have his arm around me. I think they do make a cute couple.

The Count Down Has Begun

We are so excited!!! Tucker's birthday party is just a couple of days away and we are busy preparing. I embroidered goody bags and sewed them back together today. I also wrapped candy bars and put packed the bags. I finished his birthday outfit. Daddy ordered his cake. Here's the goody bags!!!

The Last Days of Summer

This weekend is the last weekend that Quassy Amusement Park is open. They were also having a promotion for season pass holders and every pass holder could bring a friend. We decided to bring Mackenzie's friend Harvest and her sister Maple. Their mom had an art show this weekend and the park was perfect to keep the girls entertained. Spent a few hours at the park. Road the rides and had ice cream. Then we headed to an awesome play park in our town and picked up Happy Meal's along the way. The kids spent an hour or so running around playing. We then went home for more play, dinner and roasting marshmellows. Next was chill out time waiting for mom to come.

It was a great day and everyone had a wonderful time!

Big Daddy Frogenstein

We now have three frogs...that we know of. Two little ones and this big guy. This guy will hang out when you come out. I call him Big Daddy. Ed calls him Frogenstein. I combined the two and he's now known as Big Daddy Frogenstein. This is him enjoying the waterfall until some nut had to come and start flashing pictures and disturbing him.

Tucker's Birthday Cards

Tucker's birthday is quickly approaching and this is his year for a birthday party. We are having it at American Gymnastics and I'm sure he's going to have a ball. These are the graphics I made for his cards. I'll have cards printed through Cafepress and I'll also put the front on a shirt for him. I love the way these turned out!!!

Our Geocaching Logo

I wanted to make something special to identify our family when we go geocaching. I ended up making a design of a wolf and having it printed on a self inking stamp. We can use it when we sign the logs and we also bought some blank wood coins that I stamped with our logo. I'm going to make another one for the back. The back one will have our names and the date Ed and I were established.

Today we did two caches in the Thomaston area. Both were fun and we found both...woooo hoooo!!! The first one we did on Pitch Road was especially nice. We started out in this area that looked like it was used for partying. I really wondered what we were in store for with this one. We walked up what looked like a dry waterfall and at the top was this beautiful lake that was blocked by a beavers dam. It was just breathtaking. The first set of pictures was this cache. The second set was in the White Memorial Foundation. Fun, fun, fun and can't wait to go out again!

Tucker Kindergarten Orientation

Daddy took half a day off and everyone but Mackenzie went to his orientation. He did great and his best buddy from preschool is in his class. So far love the teachers and felt very positive over the experience. Tucker liked it. He is scheduled to take the van to and from school but now wants to take the big bus. I'll have to talk to the teacher during open house about changing it.

Mackz First Day of 3rd Grade

Wow were does the time go. I can't believe my baby is in 3rd grade. She was very excited to be going back to school. It was great to see her so eager. Her teacher called list night and she sounds really, really nice. I can say I like her already. We did go out last night and buy new shoes and this morning Mackz didn't like them so off she went in her old scuffed shoes. Not happy but it was our only snafu this morning. Tucker, Mick and Teagan are all tired. I'm sure that orientation this afternoon for Tucker is going to be a joy. Note sarcasm.

Bedrooms

We started the boys room a couple of years ago. Painted the walls and went with an outdoor theme with a cabin bunk bed. Got this great weathered dresser from a friend but was using this horrible particle board one for Tucker. Really it wasn't horrible. It was new and matched his crib but really didn't go with the whole theme of the room. Well we finally got a great "new" dresser. This one was discarded at Ed's place of employment. It sat out in the rain for a bit. It was solid wood so we brought it home and sanded it down. It came out perfect and matches the theme of the room perfect. Maybe someday we'll add a clear coat but for now it's perfect for our needs. Here's the boys room!

The Tadpole Becomes a Frog

We started our new pond with 11 fish, 10 tadpoles and 10 trapdoor snails. The snails have multiplied like crazy and almost immediately. I have no clue how many we have. In the last few weeks I have seen one frog and one tagpole. I'm not sure if they died or hopped away or are hiding. Out of the original fish I believe we have 3 left. I did find a few dead and some I have no clue what happened to them. We did get a whole bunch of new fish from a gentleman on Freecycle.

Today I went out to feed my little pond family. I sadly found a dead fish and a dead bird. The birds like to drink and wash in the waterfall and I guess this little one fell in and couldn't get out. I disposed of the bodies and when I came back I saw this little guy out of the corner of my eye. Isn't he too cute!!! I really hope there's more there. I really love our little froggies!

School Placements

We got the school placements for Tucker and Mackz. Mackz is jumping for joy!

Okay not really I just like this picture...lol Mackz does not have her buddies known as the twins in her class. We are pretty upset. We really like the twins and their family. Harvest our other favorite buddy is in her class though so that's really exciting. I'm thinking Harvest mom Jen and I can be room moms. :o) How much fun would that be!

Tucker is in a room with 2 teachers. He's very excited. He really loves school. I will miss his preschool staff but they are right down the hall so I'm sure I'll visit. One of the teachers that Tucker has was his summer school teacher. Now I took one of at this women said hello and liked her immediately. I'm hoping that will continue through out the year. Some of my close friends know of my first year in preschool so they can understand where I'm coming from.

Mick and Teagan so to Kindergarten next year. Okay I don't want to talk about it because it'll make me cry. I'll be eye hubby for baby number 5. Hey I am only 48...lol
